I just got back from a week-long baseball tournament in Florida. My wife and I decided to make it a 2-week vacation and the weather was nice, sunny and hot. As opposed to Floridians who think 50 degrees F is getting cold, we in Canada get to truly enjoy all 4 seasons – from the heat of Summer, to the changing colours of Fall, to snow and (hopefully) White Christmas of Winter, to the excitement and rebirth of Spring! We both agreed that it does become somewhat dark, cold and tedious after Christmas and it was great to go somewhere sunny and warm. However, we’re home now and although it’s sunny outside, it’s pretty cold. That said, spring is just around the corner!

Just like the weather seasons come and go, and so do the seasons of life. I’ve been in real estate for over 30 years. My oldest is about to start her career as a lawyer and my youngest is going to Teacher’s College in the Fall. Are you with me when I say that these seasons seem to come and go faster and faster, as well as time? Some of life’s seasons will be HOT and others will be COLD, some high and some low. The lows we want to move by quickly, the highs we want to stay in forever. (see next page)

Here is where you and I can HELP!

(see inside for details)

Unfortunately, there are some that will have a Spring Time they would much rather forget.

With all the beauty this Spring Time brings, there is also the ugly for some. As I’m typing this, The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) has a full house of kids with many fighting for their lives.

For them and their families, Spring time is the furthest thing from their mind. Don’t get me wrong, these families long to see their kids out in the yard playing or riding their bikes but for now, they are praying this will be a season of healing.

Just like last year, we are on a mission to raise money for The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids). We do this by donating a portion of our income from homes we sell. As you know SickKids does great work in helping kids fight through and survive nasty life-threatening diseases like cancer, Non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, leukemia and others.

This is where you can help! If you or anyone you know is considering making a move, we would like to offer them a FREE No Obligation Market Analysis that will give them a real idea of what they can expect to sell their home for. Just like we are thankful for you and your business, I am confident your referrals will be thanking you for steering them in the right direction on getting their home sold!!!

Meet Sierra. Diagnosed with cystic fibrosis at just one month old, Sierra has been a SickKids patient almost her entire life. Because of this, her family is eager to take part in awareness campaigns and fundraising initiatives for SickKids.

"Being a part of the SickKids VS Campaign made me feel very happy because I know that SickKids is working on a cure for CF and other diseases,” said Sierra. “They are helping other kids and I feel more confident and hopeful about finding a cure and accepting whatever we must deal with in our day-today life.” Getting involved in fundraisers and helping to raise awareness about SickKids comes easily to this charismatic and outgoing 13-year-old.

Why I Support Children’s Miracle Network & SickKids Hospital:

Growing up in Scarborough, whenever my brother Steven or
I needed to go to the hospital, our mom and dad always tried to take us to the Hospital for Sick Children, better known today as SickKids Hospital. Even though there were other hospitals significantly closer to home, our mom always believed there was no better place to provide children’s healthcare than SickKids.

Years later, Steven and his wife had twins, Michael and Stephanie. Unfortunately, both were born with a kidney condition called Hydronephrosis. Our mother’s ardent respect and support for SickKids got passed down to us, so it’s no wonder Steven found a specialist based out of
SickKids to treat the twins. They had to visit the specialist every few months until they were about 10 years old. Stephanie even needed to have surgery to treat the condition. Today, because of the wonderful work of Sick Kids, I am proud to say that Michael and Stephanie are healthy young adults.

When I first joined Re/Max, there was an option to donate to the Children’s Miracle Network (CMN), which raises funds for hospitals throughout the United States and Canada. Your CMN donation stays local and it just so happens that SickKids is our local hospital. SickKids is a collection of hard-working professionals, most making their home right here in the GTA, all coming together for a common cause - to help young people overcome unfortunate health issues that life sometimes throws our way. So for me, it was a no-brainer to start donating a portion of my income to CMN and Sick Kids to help them in their quest to heal young people when they need healing.

My team and I are committed to providing outstanding results for buyers and sellers referred to us by our past clients. I know that SickKids share similar commitments to their patients. Since their services rely on sponsorships and donations, we are happy to contribute and proud to support them.

I encourage you to visit their website at www.SickKids.ca and check out how they are making a difference in the lives of children and their families!
